Emergency Medical Services
Plymouth Fire-Rescue provides emergency medical services (EMS) for the Town of Plymouth. The department is also contracted to provide ambulance services to the towns of Ashland, Holderness, Rumney. and parts of Bridgewater. In order to perform these duties, all full-time staff are required to hold certification with the National Registered Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) as either Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or Paramedic. In addition, they must be licensed by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services in the State of New Hampshire. Plymouth Fire-Rescue currently houses two ambulances to respond to emergency medical calls, both carrying advanced life support equipment.
Approximately 65% of our emergency calls are medical in nature. We are committed to providing efficient and caring advanced level of pre-hospital care to all our patients. Emergency pre-hospital medicine is constantly advancing and we strive to remain progressive in the field. For those reasons, we dedicate much of our shift and monthly training to emergency medical care. This training also prepares our EMT's to recertify with the NREMT every two years.
